Kings & Queens Last Saturday

The Kings and Queens volleyball tournament was a blast! Thank you to all who participated and to Gary and Karol who helped organize it. The taco lunch was a huge success and thank you to the social committee and all the wonderful chefs and servers.
After a busy day of activities, there was no better place to watch a movie than in the pool! What an awesome experience. Thank you Richie and Norma for the movie and popcorn.

Saturday and Sunday were great! Temps in the 70s and 80s. Lots of folks got their trailers opened up for the season. The coming weekend doesn't look to be as nice as the past one, but folks will be here working to spruce up the Club for the summer.

Wifi is operational throughout except for the Sunrise Lane area. Still working on getting that one going. The line was cut last fall and we need to do some trenching and laying of new cable. Thanks to our Wifi chairman for his hard work.

Activities are happening every weekend at Oakwood, including Volleyball, Horseshoes and Petanque, weather permitting. We hope to have the pool open by Memorial Day. We'll keep you posted about the pool.

We have a great deal of spring cleaning to do. Lots of leaves to rake, as well as fallen branches and the like.

Hope to see you all there.

Let the CELEBRATION begin! I think the warm weather is finally here! This weekend, temperatures are predicted to be in the 60s with no temperatures below freezing in the 10 day forecast. If it’s at all possible, we will turn the water on this Saturday. The decision will be made Saturday morning. We will have to determine if the frost is out of the ground before the water is turned on, however. If the water is turned on, an e-mail will be sent to members right away.

Some roads at the Club may not be accessible because of snow. The access points into the Pines were still blocked last weekend—there are solid chunks of snow from the road plowing that will need additional melting time.

Is it any wonder that we have had to delay our season opening once again, until May 4? This is a photo of my trailer taken on April 20. We are all anxious for the season to get going, but the weather doesn't seem to care about our anxieties.

Winter doesn't seem to want to let go this "Spring." Let's hope that today's (and tonight's) snow will be the last storm we have to deal with.
